Pumped for a Follower product I'm building for @iloAnalytics. I've been writing and re-writing the code for a week, handling Twitter API limits, making sure the system has everyone's followers/unfollowers logged and somehow not kill my server 😅 It's running in production 🤞🏼

@signorettif That's an interesting idea. I like it. I definitely think unfollows are a valuable metric, I'm just wary of mental health and the potential negativity unfollows may surface

@Reider_DJ My kind of tweeting hasn't changed so I don't think it's to do with the quantity. I seem to be being shown to more people outside my followers, which may explain the decrease in engagement.

@damengchen Congrats. Excited to see how this changes your revenue. I'm planning another price increase too. I only did one last month 😅 Pricing is such a complex beast. As features come and go and value changes, pricing needs to keep up.

@AprilynneA How do you know it’s a tweet that makes people unfollow you? Technically the only way to do this is track who unfollows after which tweet. But it’s still not guaranteed to be accurate. I unfollow people more randomly than based on a specific tweet

I’ve been working hard on recording unfollows in ilo.so. I don’t think I’ll launch it. It’s not something fun to see, the users who have unfollowed you. It’s not a “nice” feature. Maybe there’s a reason unfollower lists aren’t a default in social media.

Numerical goals are so fickle. You work so hard to reach them and it’s incredibly exciting to get close but once you reach them, they always just end up being just “a number”. A non-event. And you just move on to the next one. (eg followers, subscribers, revenue, salary etc)

@swyx @fredwilson @slatestarcodex I think it comes down to how the blog owners/writers operate comments. If they’re used more for “community” (some of Cove’s users do this really well) rather than just “comments”, then they can be a really powerful tool.

@planekevin I typically use Namecheap to buy but instantdomainsearch.com for browsing. It makes it really useful to look at different extensions (if you need to)

A year ago yesterday I started the project for @CoveComments and shared the moment on Twitter. This was a my first of 4 launches in 2020 and was the start of sharing what I was building. I had ~3.9k followers. What a year! I've grown a ton and met so many lovely people. twitter.com/dr/status/1246…

@jmckinven @PodpageHQ Looks much better! Ironically, for an audio medium, podcast sites always look better and more inviting with imagery. Have you thought of adding artwork for each episode?

@stevediaconou If I do a late night, I do it max once a week. It’s not worth it, as everything else suffers. And typically it’s only if there’s a big thing I want done. Otherwise my time spent on different projects is just random

@nachoiacovino @madsbrodt @RobertBrunhage @tailwindcss Yes I probably am. My biggest issues with Tailwind are the homogenous sites (UI) and having too much unnecessary CSS I’d rather just write my own

@madsbrodt @RobertBrunhage @tailwindcss I prefer to have a single CSS file with some utility classes (similar to Tailwind) and then write a few custom things. No compiling necessary. Makes it incredibly easy

@RobertBrunhage @tailwindcss I just have a my own small library of utility classes which I bring to new projects. I write any CSS on top of that. Small and only what I need. I would never use a huge library like Tailwind; it dictates your design too much and everyone’s sites all look the same
