When I worked at a startup, I used to hate it when Sales promised features the dev team had no time to deliver. Now that I'm a bootstrapped founder I have no one to hate but myself 🙃

@mynameis_davis @stripe I cannot explain how life-changing this would be. My 2c is that edit history / new number only matters if the order amount is changing. The best would be the possibility to adjust tax post-hoc and make JUST that invoice tax-inclusive, to avoid changing the total amount.

@brandymedia I debated between the two and opted for Stripe Tax. It's important to know that most countries only ask you to remit after a certain (high) threshold of annual tx/volume. Stripe Tax's goal is to ultimately be as simple as an MoR and I trust them to deliver on it.

@Ryan___Doyle Best place to be in! I would take a look at your site's technical SEO as a foundation. You don't have canonical urls defined, but also your blog index page navigates via JavaScript and not links. Real, internal links and resulting site structure are super important for SEO.

@poacher2k Interesting, yeah. I'm a customer of a Norwegian SaaS business and they still provide me a VAT ID and reverse charge. But that's the beauty of EU B2B, you rarely touch VAT. Your product looks B2C which could get messy, in which case Paddle is probably worth a look.

@1aura1uo Yes exactly. Address adjustments, Tax IDs, and resulting tax (I'm using Stripe Tax) are all super common edits I have to make by editing PDFs today.

@happydragos Can you recommend a specific post or two? I checked this (archbee.io/blog/how-to-bu…) but it's more high-level than what I'm after. I'm already happily using another solution with no plans to migrate, but good luck with Archbee!

@brandymedia This is actually a KEY point about Paddle and any MoR. You will be charging your customers unnecessary tax! Because Paddle is over all those exemption limits. I asked this question to both Paddle and FastSpring and they confirmed it. This is what Stripe Tax looks like: pic.twitter.com/NZwOn9MKme

@jessethanley We are doing exactly the same. Moving some analytics data and transactions. But we store the raw analytics in BigQuery so we are moving just the denormalizations into PG. So the size isn’t outrageous, especially as we partition by workspace. ~100s of MB per yr per biggish user.

@jessethanley Are you putting your raw analytics data into Postgres? We have considered that but it seems way, way more expensive than BQ. We track something close to 1B monthly events right now. So it seems it would be a size issue eventually?

@RozenMD Not a dumb question. It's a mix of customer development (which I learned from "Lean Customer Development") and the latest tips I've picked up from "Founding Sales". But the real answer is just a ridiculous amount of practice. I've easily done 100+ demos in the last 3 years.

@brandymedia Generally not, but one key point is that I run an EU-based business so I have certain things to comply with regardless, which might be "extra" for non-EU businesses. They do have a small business category for sub-10K EUR within EU which simplifies things though.

@Alexjwmoran there is no secret. but you can certainly hypothesize about why it ranks the way it does.

@AimenBatool @MeetKevon @robwalling @tdinh_me @dagorenouf @cogentgene @HomeskoolersHQ I don’t know enough about homeschooling to have an opinion honestly! My first instinct would’ve been making a Facebook group.

@joemasilotti @womenonrails @mariacameireles @aurelievache @indigitalcolor No stress, Joe. I saw this and was confused on ever I publicly expressed an opinion on documentation ;) Monicas are rare, but when there's more than one you gotta watch out! TY for the correction :)

@maciejgryka Mmm it makes sense. I definitely have these types of documentation mixed together and feel the constant need to "add context" :) i will think about how this can apply to my docs!

@feoh @GatsbyJS hey, that's a bummer! honestly i haven't updated the site where i'm using that to Gatsby 4 and have no need/plans to do so. Lots of Gatsby 3 stuff still works with 4, so maybe just fork it? Good luck!

@jlogic Love it. I've been a bit laissez-fair knowing that most things are "possible" if someone commits as a big enough account. But setting a timeline would potentially take off some of the stress.

@brandymedia Yeah, I spent months deciding. Thing is, it's not all black and white. Int'l tax is a mess and if you make a small mistake, they will not send you to prison. Stripe Tax helps monitor and when you have enough money to reach most thresholds, have the accountant handle it. My 2c.

@alenards thanks! i think stephanie is focusing on blog content / content for a technical audience. what i'm really after is more structuring a help center/help articles which will be consumed by software users who are not developers.

@Alexjwmoran your guess is as good as mine! i haven't done anything specific to make the site rank for this term, besides choosing a "brand" name that is close to an existing search term + adding it as a footer link in existing site.
